I Hear Asylums, Jennings Gallery, University College Cork
The Jennings Gallery, UCC will host an exclusive solo exhibition "I Hear Asylums" by artist and voice hearer, Michelle Dalton, Wednesday 13th November until Monday 18th November 2013.
This unique art event is in collaboration with two-day conference "The Meanings of Madness" organized by the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and Midwifery and the School of Applied Social Studies, UCC in association with the Critical Voices Network Ireland.
Michelle Dalton is a self-taught artist from Cork. She is a mixed media artist who shows versatility in how she uses materials and genres, allowing for multi-dimensional creativity.
The artwork is personal, emotive and highly expressive. The exhibition will show a wide range of pieces from paintings to photography all based on the artist's personal experiences of madness and the show will be accompanied by a talk by Michelle Dalton as part of the conference.
